Use what you like to make this YOUR favorite snack mix!
A total of 9 cups of Chex cereal + 5 cups of your choice of cheese crackers, pretzels or oyster crackers + 1-2 cups of peanuts or mixed nuts (optional).
Once completely cooled, store in an airtight containers (ziplock bags work well) at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
Ingredients
-
1 stick butter
-
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 4 1/2 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 4 1/2 cups Wheat Chex cereal
- 2 cups bite-sized or mini pretzel twists
- 2 cups cheese crackers, such as Cheez-Its
-
1 cup oyster crackers
-
1-2 cups roasted peanuts or mixed nuts, optional
-
2 packs Kitcheneez Ranch dressing mix (also available in No Salt)
Directions
Preheat oven to 250*.
Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. (We like to use broiler pans so there’s room to stir. If you only have one, cook one batch at a time.)
Melt the butter in a small saucepan. Stir in Worcestershire sauce and 1 packet of Ranch dressing seasoning.
In a large bowl, mix cereal, crackers, pretzels and nuts with remaining 1 packet of Ranch dressing seasoning. Toss lightly to coat.
Pour half of the butter mixture into the bowl and stir. Then add remaining butter mixture and stir again to evenly season.
Divide the mixture between the prepared baking sheets and spread into an even layer.
Bake, stirring every 15 minutes, until lightly browned and crisp. A total of 45 to 50 minutes or until it’s as browned as you like.
If you only have one pan you’re cooking in, let the first batch cool for 10 minutes on the baking sheets before removing. We spread ours on paper towels so we can use the pan for the next batch.
